This is a three-act play.
Autumn. The interior courtyard of a large old country house, whose windows open onto a corridor where wooden horses are kept with saddles, reins, yokes, ropes, ploughs and other agricultural equipment. On the left, a wide door to the cellar. Beside it, a large pile of hay.
Decorating the corridor, pots of geraniums and cages holding native birds. REMIGIO, FIDEL and CUSTODIO are playing rayuela. On the right, CELINDA stokes a fire in the brazier, seated on the floor beside a small table with a maté set on it. After playing, the three men approach the line and argue.
